¹ This is what the Lord GOD showed me-a basket of summer fruit. ² He said "Amos what do you see?" And I said, "A basket of summer fruit." Then the LORD said to me. "The end has come upon my people Israel; I will never again pass them by.
(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 8 verses 1 to 2)
Oh, brothers and Sisters repent from our sins, for the Lord God our Father can easily make such a declaration regarding us, even though He loves us with unimaginable love. However, our attitudes aand relationship towards each other and towards God can easily have a negative impact on us. For although God loves us He is also a just and righteous God who cannot turn a blind eye on our evil ways Amen.
³ The songs of the temple shall become wailings in that day says the Lord GOD; "the dead bodies shall be many, cast out in every place. Be silent!"
(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 8 verse 3)
Oh God my Father there is already dead silence in the temple for people are no longer attending mass due to this virus. Dead bodies are accumulating in all parts of the world. During this time of woe we need to be silent and listen to You alone Amen.
⁴ Hear this you that trample on the needy, and bring to ruin the poor of the land, ⁵ saying, "When will the new moon be over so that we may sell grain; and the sabbath so that we may offer wheat for sale? We will make the ephah small and the shekel great, and practice deceit with false balances ⁶ buying the poor for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals, and selling the sweepings of the wheat."
(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 8 verses 4 to 6)
Oh, You who abuse the poor and middle classes in order to increase your profits bear in mind that there is a God who will avenge those of a greater need and provide for them during times of poverty. God is our avenger now and forever. On the other hand, may we be poor in this material world and rich in faith and graces Amen.
⁷ The LORD has sworn by the pride of Jacob; Surely I will never forget any of their deeds.
(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 8 verse 7)
Oh God, my blessed Father please never forget any of our deeds. They are the least that we can do as humans. Moreover, without Your help, we could not do such deeds Amen.
⁸ Shall not the land tremble on this account, and everyone mourn who lives in it, and all of it rise like the Nile, and be tossed about and sink again like the Nile of Egypt?

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 8 verse 9)
On this day oh God my Father You were already telling us what was going to take place at the time of Your passion. Even though You give us proof beforehand we are so stubborn that we do not understand or else if we do we deny the facts Amen. I pray for our healing my God and Father Amen.
¹⁰ I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and baldness on every head; I will make it like the mourning for an only son and the end of it like a bitter day.

Oh God my Father during our every day lives we attribute goodness and gratitude to humans, we say "Had it not been for John, I would not have made it in time for the appointment!, and many more, such praises, which rightfully so are to be given to You, for You have control and authority over all that takes place in our lives. I thank You so much, my God and Father Amen.
Oh Father of love and life, blessed be Your Name. On this special day that we commemorate as Father's Day, I would like to end this eight chapter of the book of the Small Prophet Amos with the following prayer:-
Oh God, my Father, I praise and thank You for being my Father. On this special day, I wish You the best Father's day ever in eternity long. However, as one of Your many sons and daughters, I declare that I am a sinner and that I depend on Your love and mercy. I thank You for being there for me as a loving Father should be. I pray for my daughter and entrust her in Your love and care for You are the best Father ever. Amen
