The Book of Small prophets Amos Chapter 7 of 9

The Book of Small Prophets

Amos

Chapter

7

¹ This is what the Lord God showed me; he was forming locusts at the time the latter growth began to sprout (it was the latter growth after the king's mowings)

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verse 1)

As the author of creation at any time God has the supreme authority to create any creature or human being that He desires. I pray that as humans we do not destroy the creatures and systems that You have created my God and Father Amen.

² When they had finished eating the grass of the land, I said, O Lord God, forgive, I beg you! How can Jacob stand? He is so small!

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verse 2)

On becoming aware of our human frailty along with its weaknesses we realize how hard it is to live without You my God and Father and rely on our own skills and resources. We realize that we cannot survive without You Amen.

³ The LORD relented concerning this; "It shall not be," said the LORD.

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verse 3)

Oh God, my Father, I thank You for caring for humanity. You care for us more than we can ever care for You Amen. Thank You, Jesus.

⁴ This is what the Lord GOD showed me: the Lord GOD was calling for a shower of fire, and it devoured the great deep and was eating up the land.

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verse 4)

Oh God, my Father I am not amazed if You want to send fire to devour the land. The Amazon is already on fire as are other regions of the world. May Your will be done Amen.

⁵ Then I said, "O Lord GOD, cease, I beg you! How can Jacob stand? He is so small! ⁶ The LORD relented concerni8ng this; "This also shall not be," said the Lord GOD.

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verses 5 to 6)

Oh God my Father, thank You for Your loving mercy. Thanks for giving attention to our prayers even though we do not deserve to be heard Amen. I also wish to thank You for Your humility in submitting Your will in order to cater for our needs Amen.

⁷ This is what he showed me; the Lord was standing beside a wall built with a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand. ⁸ And the LORD said to me, "Amos what do you see?" And I said, "A plumb line." Then the Lord said, "See, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel; I will never again pass them by; ⁹ the high places of Isaac shall be made desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste, and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword."

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verses 7 to 9)

Oh God my Father, how can we ever survive if even You turn against us? We would have no hope and no reason to live for. I beg of You to restrain Your anger even though we have given You more than one reason to be angry with us Amen.

¹⁰ Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, saying, "Amos has conspired against you in the very center of the house of Israel; the land is not able to bear all his words.

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verse 10)

Oh God my Father, the forces of evil will stop at nothing from falsely accusing us in front of others, however, You are our vindicator Amen.

¹¹ For thus Amos has said, 'Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel must go into exile away from his land."

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verse 11)

Oh God, my Father may what You declare as being Your will take place both in heaven and on earth. May Your will be done now and forever Amen, even if we do not always agree with the outcome of our lives, because only You know what is really of supreme good for us Amen.

¹² And Amaziah said to Amos, "O seer, go, flee away to the land of Judah, earn your bread there and prophesy there; ¹³ but never again prophesy at Bethel, for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a temple of the kingdom."

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verse 12)

Oh God, many times the world places us in a stressful situation putting pressure on us not to do Your will, however, I pray that we be strong during this turbulent time and remain faithful to our calling Amen.

¹⁴ Then Amos answered Amaziah, "I am no prophet, nor a prophet's son; but I am a herdsman, and a dresser of sycamore trees, ¹⁵ and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said to me, "Go, prophesy to my people Israel.'

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verses 14 to 15)

Oh brothers and sisters, as in the case of Amos the prophet, I am neither a theologian or a philosopher, I am a Social Worker by profession and a sinner according to human nature. However, even though I am the least among many intelligent people from the people of God, God gave me the idea of creating this blog in the year 2003 as my prayer time on the Bible and to this day, God is assisting me in compiling and updating this blog Amen. I  thank You, Jesus, for this opportunity of using me to accomplish this positive act Amen.

¹⁶ "Now, therefore, hear the word of the LORD. You say,'Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not preach against the house of Isaac.'

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verse 16)

Oh God, many times I had been told by my ex-wife to stop this blog, however, I chose to obey You and continue over the voices of the world Amen.

¹⁷ Therefore thus says the LORD; 'Your wife shall become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be parcelled out by line; you yourself shall die in an unclean land, and Israel shall surely go into exile away from its land,'

(The Book of Small Prophets Amos Chapter 7 verse 17)

Oh God my Father, You know my present, past and even my future. May Your will be done, for I am completely in Your hands. I only live the day and even those hours I give to You my God and Father.

I would like to end this seventh chapter of the book of the small prophet Amos with the following prayer:-

Oh God my Father I pray for mercy on the world at this point in time, for I feel that the green horse that brings sickness as referred in the book of Revelations to St. John is already set loose on the earth and is leaving a lot of serious illness such as this Corona Virus. I pray that we turn to You our source of healing and strength Amen.
